My books are up for an award

I came home from vacation to some exciting news--two of my books are finalists for the eFestival of Words Best of the Independent eBooks Award.  What was especially nice, IMHO, is that I did not need to pay a fee to enter, nor did I nominate myself.

Neeta Lyffe, Zombie Exterminator--Best Young Adult
Mind Over Mind--Best Fantasy

The winners are determined by popular vote between now and Aug17.  I used to ask people to vote for my book, but it always bothered me, and does even more as I get older.  I don't want to win because I'm popular.  I want to win because my book is that good.

What's nice about this award is that they have asked authors to post excerpts, offer copies, etc.  So what I'm asking is that you consider my books against the others.  I also have offers for the books themselves on the voting pages.

You must register at www.efestivalofwords.com to vote. One vote per account. (The site does track IP addresses. Multiple votes from the same IP address using different accounts will be deleted.)

To vote, log in at efestivalofwords.com and go to the VOTE! Thread for each category. Winners will be announced during festival August 17-19th.  http://www.efestivalofwords.com/awards-hall-f29.html

Last note:  If you are a writer, do sign up.  Even if you don't vote, the eFestival of Words is a free online writers conference with panels and workshops.  You'll learn a lot and have some networking.

I didn't know Neeta Lyffe was 'YA'. Did you? ;)

Nissa, I decided not to puzzle over it. Gift horses and all that. I'm just happy someone liked it enough to recommend it, in whatever category, and that it made the finals. Kind of cool that it did so, even out of its natural category, don'cha think?

Very cool, but as I've read the books in question, not at all surprising.

PS I really hate the new word verification. If you see this, you'll know I managed to read it correctly for once.

Aw, thanks. I agree on the Capthas, but sadly, it's that or get spammified.

At least blogger lets me comment--Wordpress refuses to accept my comments because ages ago, I tried a blog on them and couldn't figure it out, and now I've no idea what the username or password is.

Congratulations!

I don't know how much spam your blog normally gets, but there is a way to set up your comments field to only have Captchas for posts that are of a certain age (such as 2 weeks old, etc.). Since the bulk of your visitors who would want to comment probably visit your blog relatively soon after the post hits, and most spambots seem to comment on older posts, I've heard it works. (Works for me but I don't get much spam on any of my blogs, even the ones with no Captchas anywhere!)
